Annually, in the fall, NOPRA, with support from TMACO and the Lucas County Port Authority, sponsors a luncheon meeting. The forum features rail news and information and a keynote presentation.
Our annual Forum to be held at The Toledo Club in Toledo, at 11:00 a.m. Monday October 24, 2016, welcomes speaker Eugene “Gene” Skoropowski from Florida. The title of the Presentation is “Recreating Intercity Passenger Rail in Florida: Back to the Future.”
His presentation will include what the service is, who is building it, where it goes and the additional travel options it brings to Florida, and how its concepts can be applied to other rail corridors.
Eugene K. Skoropowski is Senior Vice President of Railroad Operations, Brightline. Gene has more than 40 years of railroad industry experience in both the private and public sectors with an extensive background of building and managing successful passenger rail service projects in major metropolitan cities around the world. With his guidance, All Aboard Florida’s Brightline service will be the first new, privately-financed intercity passenger rail service in a hundred years.
